Andrew Hoty is a radio host, podcaster, and entertainer from Northeast Ohio whose work blends classic music appreciation, sports commentary, and humor. Radio Career

Andrew is best known currently as the host of “Oldies Amplified,” a radio program airing Sunday evenings from 10pm-1am dedicated to the timeless sounds of classic rock and pop. The show highlights both iconic hits and overlooked deep cuts from the golden eras of music, while also providing stories, commentary, and context about the artists and songs that shaped generations. Andrew also brings with him local news stories, concert announcements, and more.

Broadcast on WBWC 88.3 The Sting, the show reflects Andrew’s deep appreciation for the music of the past and his goal of keeping those sounds alive for both longtime fans and newer listeners. His energetic delivery and conversational style bring a modern edge to the classic “oldies” format.

In addition to hosting Oldies Amplified, Andrew contributes to other programming at the station, including his other time slot from 6-9am on Tuesdays - focusing on the Sting's modern rock alternative format, along with contributions to WBWC's sports department.

After graduating from Baldwin Wallace in 2022, Andrew had also worked for Cleveland's Sports Radio 92.3 The Fan for three years as a sports news anchor, board producer, and phone screener.

Podcasting & Sports Commentary

Outside of music radio, Andrew brings his passion for sports to the microphone as a co-host of the weekly podcast “Raw Takes & Co.” with colleagues Matthias Andujar & Jake Malensek. The show delivers candid and often humorous commentary on the biggest stories across professional sports, particularly the NFL and NBA.

On Raw Takes & Co., Andrew and his co-hosts break down weekly matchups, debate hot topics, analyze trades and coaching decisions, and share bold predictions. The show’s conversational format emphasizes honest opinions, lively discussion, and the kind of debates sports fans have every day.

Comedy

Andrew first experimented with live entertainment through stand-up comedy during his teenage years, performing a handful of sets at local events and small venues. While it was a brief chapter, the experience helped shape his confidence behind a microphone and his comfort engaging with live audiences.

Elements of that early comedic background still carry into his work today. Whether hosting “Oldies Amplified” on WBWC 88.3 The Sting or discussing sports on “Raw Takes & Co.”, Andrew often brings humor, storytelling, and a conversational style to his broadcasts—qualities that trace back to his early attempts at stand-up.
